Facial Study

I like using markers that are running out of their ink. Here I used a cool grey 20%, but I like that I have to keep going over an area to get the right darkness as opposed to just one strike with a new marker.

Forest Clearing

Just a quick painting of a crisp winter afternoon. Strangely, in summer I wish it was winter and in winter I wish it was summer. Hmm.

The Old Barn

Just a quick ink wash painting of a barn in Alaska.

Zod vs. Superman!

Ahhh the alternate universe commissions are always fun to do ;) In this one poor Superman is just no match for Zod... and in his own home as well.

It's Not Gonna Be Pleasant

Although not the most exciting moment from the movie Jaws, it could be argued one of the more important as Quint states his case for how and why he can catch the great shark.

Homage to McQuarrie

I love the work Ralph McQuarrie did for the Star Wars movies. In a lot of ways, he helped those movies get made with his paintings showing what those worlds looked like. This was a commissioned piece of early designs of Luke and Boba Fett.

Luke

My brother Curt had his third child recently. It was his first boy, though. He named him Luke after a certain Jedi. This was done in colored pencil.

Rainy Day on the Freeway

You might begin to see a pattern emerging...kinda like rain

The rainforest

I was watching an episode of Bizarre Foods (great show) and he was in Puerto Rico-it got the creative juices flowing and this was the outcome....

Rain in Napa
